B.R.I.G.H.T. Lights
Being Radiant in Godliness, Holiness, and Testimony
“Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers in word, in conversation, in charity, in faith, in purity.” I Timothy 4:12
Ages 10-14 are often turning points for young ladies. Decisions made at that time will greatly influence their entire lives. They need guidance from the Word of God and a vision for ministry.
Many underestimate the ability of young people to take a mighty stand for Jesus Christ in this generation of darkness. The goal of Bright Lights is to disciple young ladies to be exactly what the acronym describes: to Be Radiant in Godliness, Holiness and Testimony. Being radiant means that we are shining so brightly that we are leading others in the way of the Lord!
In Bright Lights our purposes are:
- To encourage the pursuit of godliness
- To provide positive peer influence and accountability
- To have a group which can be a team to minister to others
Some of the foundational topics taught in Bright Lights are:
- Being Strong for the Lord in Your Youth
- Developing a Close Relationship with Your Parents
- Honoring Your Parents
- Developing a Disciplined Walk with the Lord
- Keeping Pure from Polluting Influences
- Being Fully Dedicated to God
- Contentment, Humility, Self-control, Wisdom and other practical character traits of godliness.
In addition to the lesson, each meeting will contain a time of prayer, singing, memorizing Scripture, reading biographies of Christian heroes of the faith, testimonies, and activity experience.
We will end the meeting with a time of fellowship and tea/snacks. This gives us a great opportunity to practice manners and ladylike conduct, while enjoying each others company :)
